I have to be honest here - not that I'm not honest everywhere.   I believe the environment, after human rights, is more important than any other issue on earth and even then, if we don't have a flourishing earth, human rights won't mean a hill of beans.   So, being the old hippy that I am, I work very hard to support Texas companies that I know are good for the environment.  For instance, mesquite furniture is a "green" choice since it is plentiful in Texas and doesn't require anything to be cut down in the Amazon.   Organic cotton clothes, like those offered by For Mercy's Sake, are also better than cotton grown with petro-chemical pesticides and fertilers.

So, check out these earth-friendly companies and take your own bags to the grocery store!   Let's not deserve our reputation as gluttons, but rather try to follow our grandparents' example and use what we have.
